Waddesdon, a French Renaissance-style château, was built in the 1870s by Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild to house his art treasures and to entertain the fashionable world. His collection of English and Dutch paintings and French decorative arts was amongst the finest in the world. Added to by subsequent generations of the Rothschild family, visitors can see this incredible collection displayed as it would have been in Baron Ferdinand’s day.
