Kensington Palace

A residence of the Royal Family since the 17th century, Kensington Palace was the birthplace and childhood home of Queen Victoria and now you get the chance to venture behind the royal doors! You’ll arrive at the Palace through beautiful landscaped gardens before stepping through the entrance hall and into the plush King and Queen’s State Apartments. Here, you can soak in exceptional architecture and costumes that the royal family have worn over the centuries. Discover the story of the Stuarts and the Hanoverians royal courts, and find out what you would have worn and how you should behave and act in order to succeed in the palace’s heady environment! Designed by Sir Christopher Wren, the architect behind St Paul’s Cathedral, Kensington Palace is an elaborate palace with much to see and discover.

Until 4 January 2026 This winter, Queen Victoria’s rooms at Kensington Palace will be transformed with enchanting seaside-themed decorations that capture the magic and intimacy of the future queen’s childhood Christmas by the coast. Visitors to the palace can explore this family celebration set in the charming seaside town of Ramsgate, Kent, marking 190 years since the young princess’s memorable holiday by the sea.

The Last Princesses of Punjab: The story of Sophia Duleep Singh and the women who shaped her - opening 26 March 2026

In March 2026 Kensington Palace will open a new exhibition, The Last Princesses of Punjab, marking the 150th birthday of princess and suffragette Sophia Duleep Singh, the goddaughter of Queen Victoria. The exhibition explores the lives of Princess Sophia and the women who shaped her, including her sisters Catherine and Bamba, Mother Bamba Muller, Grandmother Jind Kaur and Godmother Queen Victoria. These six royal women each expressed womanhood, power, and royalty in different ways, infusing their identities and heritage into the causes they devoted themselves to.
